The Third Superpower: Listening

In a previous article, I said that my business superpowers are prayer and work. But I feel like I should add a third super power here: listening.

In that article, I shard one of my favorite quotes — “Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.”

So if I could respectfully amend this I’d say

“Pray and listen for His voice as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.”

When I say “listen for His voice” I’m not talking about an audible voice, although that would be really cool.

For those of you that might be new to my podcast or weekly newsletter you might be wondering why I’m talking about spiritual things in regard to my business. Well, for me the two are inseparable. If you’re following me it’s probably because you want success in your business. You want to duplicate the success that I and/or my students have had.

So I feel like I’d be doing you a huge disservice if I didn’t give you the secret sauce to my success. (I talk more about that in depth in this article). Imagine going to chef school and the instructor not giving you all the ingredients to a recipe.

In my own experience here are some of the main ways I hear His voice with regard to my business:

1) The inner red light or green light

2) His Word

3) An idea that pops into my head after praying

The inner red light or green light can be described as the lack of or presence of peace in a situation. Colossians 3:15 says

“And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds,”

Let His peace or lack of it call the balls and strikes.
